L.E. VON WIEGEN

Attorney at Law

Law and the legal process are intimidating.  One of the most difficult times in a person’s life is often when they come in contact with the legal system in the United States.  Whether you are a plaintiff who has been injured, or a defendant being prosecuted by the state, you need someone advise, inform, and fight for you.

While I do have significant legal experience, I also understand that many clients are often dealing with the courts and legal system for the first time.   I am an attorney with 15 years of experience. I am admitted to practice law in the state of Kentucky.  In addition,  I am admitted to practice before the United States District Courts for the Eastern and Western Districts of Kentucky,  immigration courts or the Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA), In 1998, I graduated from the University of Kentucky Magna Cum Laude with a degree in English.  I am a member of Phi Beta Kappa, Sigma Tau Delta, and the Golden Key Honor Society.  In 2003 I graduated from Washington University School of Law in St. Louis, Missouri.

Throughout my career, I have provided complex legal answers in the form of practice memorandums, briefs, and motions to other attorneys as owner and operate of Litigation and Legal Support Services of Kentucky.  Also, in my private practice, I continued to provide legal research and answers to complex legal questions for other lawyers.  My research capability were deepened in 2017 when I obtained a Masters in Information Science from the University of Kentucky. I have provided legal research and document drafting for lawyers across the country.

Pro bono and Community Service

As an attorney, pro bono service is extremely important to me. I volunteer providing legal representation to asylum seekers, individuals currently struggling with debt collection, and criminal clients, who are unable to afford representation.
